I leave in less thank 10 days. I am trying very hard not to stress out. The last few months, I could not wait to leave. I was excited to go on this new adventure. I am still very excited, but now a few worries are starting to pop into my head. I have never taught English before, and didn't really think much of it until now. I need to sell my car. So far, no one has called :( Its been 3 days, but I am worried. However, I know my parents will take care of things if it doesn't sell before I leave, but I just don't want to worry about it. I really haven't been studying the language that well. I want to at least learn the alphabet. I made flash cards! But I haven't been practicing very often. I just quit my job on Weds, and then I have been so busy. Its hard, because I want to see my friends and family before I leave. I feel like I hardly have any time left, and almost all my days are fully scheduled. The only thing I feel ok about right now is that I think I have enough clothes and there isnt much I need to purchase. I just have to start packing everything. It is hard leaving my friends and family. I am trying not to question my decision to go. It is scary to pick everything up and leave for a foreign country for over two years, but I know that this will be the best decision of my life. It is just a little crazy right now.

I have been reading a lot of PCV's journals, which is why I started this one so people can read and get a little taste of what it is like yo be a PCV in Ukraine. Most of the journals have been really positive and everyone is having an amazing experience. Last night I was reading a guy's journal and it made me extremely nervous. AT first, he started off like everyone else, excited and eager to go. Then as it got deeper into his time, he became very bitter and hated his homestay, and then he hated his site. He wrote some really nasty things about the Ukrainian people. I know it is just one person's experience, but it worried me a little. I have been nothing but excited and I was kind of always hoping to get Ukraine. I hope that I am not disappointed.
I downloaded the audio files from the Peace Corps and I have been listening to phrases in Ukraine. Its not really sticking, but its only been a few days.
I got invited to serve in Ukraine!!!! Woohoo. I can not wait to go.
I also got nominated for the Peace Corps.
I have been thinking about it for a while, and I know that if I don’t go to Eastern Europe I will regret it. I pretty much breezed through college because it was easy but I never felt like I gained any type of skill. I can always go to school when I return.
I applied to Grad School because I love film. I love watching and discussing movies. I figure that I can turn that into a teaching career.
I am so bad at decision making! Haha. I want to do what’s right for me. Really, the only reason I don’t want to say "no" to San Fran is because Im scared that something could happen and I won’t make it into the Peace Corps. But I had a Physical last year and everything was kosher, so I should be ok now.
Man. 2 years in San Francisco studying films or 2 years in Eastern Europe learning a new language and culture and teaching high school kids English.
I *just* received my medical packet so now I have to make the Dr appointments and send everything in. UGH! I want to know where I'm going now! Hehe. I keep researching all the possibilities. I am so excited! Eastern Europe is so beautiful, mysterious and exciting. I can not wait.
